Li Xintian
Li is a member of the China Writer's Association and a first-grade national screenwriter.
Born in Dali Market, Suining County, Jiangsu Province in January 1929, Li joined the People's Liberation Army of China in September 1950 and enrolled at Huadong Military and Political University (華東軍政大學). After graduation, he was assigned to teach at the Army Culture Accelerated Secondary School (部隊文化速成中學). In 1963, he was relocated to Jinan Military Area Advanced Drama Society (濟南軍區前衛話劇團) and started to work as a professional screenwriter. In 1978, he was appointed the deputy head of the Society and director of the creative team.
Li started writing at the age of 17. In the following year, his poems and novels were published in the press. After 1957, he published a massive amount of children's literature works, including Sparkling Red Star, Two Little Fighters, Jumping Flame, The Fleet Arrived On Time (船隊按時到達), Ten Self-Portraits (十幅自畫像), Blue Star Over the Roof (屋頂上的藍星) and The Sixth Studio (第六演播室), etc. In addition, he also wrote a short- to medium-length novel called The Child Who Sweeps The Street At Night (夜間掃街的孩子). He has 8 published and performed single-act plays, such as As The Moon Rises (月上柳梢), and 5 multiple-act plays, such as The Wind Brushing The Clouds (風卷殘雲). After 1987, he set foot into adult literature. His works include the long novels Bridge in My Dream (夢中的橋), Silver Queen (銀后), A Dream Chaser of Three Thousand Years (尋夢三千年) and Married For Thirty Years (結婚三十年), and the medium-length novel, Subtle Influence (潛移).
